I blew up and destroyed the original blog, and now I wish I hadn't. I did have a few good posts I was quite proud of. Now they're gone forever. Oh well, time to turn the page and start anew. I was trying too hard on the original blog. I was trying to be a big fish in a little pond. I then discovered I was plankton in the ocean. A spec of matter. Something that's easily digested and forgotten about. There were times I stopped caring what I wrote.
This time around I won't try to get the attention of ESPN or SB Nation. They have more than enough writers and more than enough people who are waiting to get their big break. I'll just write what's truly on my mind and go about my life. I'm not going to ask people to read the blog, only to hear, "Oh sure, when I get around to it." They never do. I would follow up and ask. "Oh, no, haven't had a chance yet."
The title of I'm Shocked and Appalled is from a very famous man at ESPN, and I'm very surprised no one has used the title for a blog or anything else. It's mine. All mine. So are the thoughts and words I will soon write about.
